Personal draft

I find the world of Acting a very fascinating place of work,as we get to take on different role, jobs and challenges each day.Whenever,I perform on stage or have a different task to do I feel like I always grow as a person and i'm able to see a difference in my work as I make progress through my skills.Creativity could be one of the words I would put my image of Acting as because of my experience at my college I was able to open up new pathways and expand my horizons, such as;Have the chance to work with a company called 'The broken Heart Youth Theatre' which showed me the real side of Film making,Film Acting because the difference between theatre works and being on set is very different.I was able to see this by getting an extraordinary offer from my college to audition for a role of 'extra' in a short film and work with the company for around 10 days. This was one of  the best opportunities I received as I was able to see the difference which allowed me to open my ...

Unit 7

Unit 7 monologue: Before you punch me there is something you should know. This woman we're fighting over is no ordinary woman... You don't know how good you had it. If I am going to die I want the world to know how great she is... Why do you want me to shut up? You afraid? You afraid I will say something that will hurt you?  You that sensitive? You gonna cry, Softy? Then listen... Punch me all you want when I am done... Beat me to a pulp but let me say how I feel... For her.. Do this one kindness for her... She's worth it. Do you know about serendipity?  Word too big for you?  I should stick to one or two syllables when speaking to you... "Serendipity means a "happy accident" or "pleasant surprise"; a fortunate mistake. Specifically, the accident of finding something good while not specifically searching for it." That's what our love was... A happy accident.  We didn't plan on this. She is amazing ... She is so very good... She has ...

Unit 8-Context

Image
Context Caryl Churchill was born on  3 September 1938, (80 years old to current date). Churchill is a well known worldwide play writer that focuses on society changes and equality.  S he takes extra time to make the society understand how women are important and understandable beings. That is why she  also acts as a human rights activist. To date,  Caryl   Churchill  is still known as one of the remarkable writers that are widely accepted by all ages. The idea of Churchill focusing on different problems around the world allows us as actors to see different perspectives of writers, which allows us to have a easier knowledge whilst devising her plays.Through the research on Caryl Churchill I was able to see the different sides of interpretations she showed whilst writing plays. For example,'Top girls' is a play which was written in 1982, it was targeted around the area of feminism and politics. Although, Churchill would write her plays...

Unit 8-Evaluation

Evaluation Firstly, I think progressing through unit 8, most things covered in the proposal were improved and touched on. In my performance there were many positive moments where the actors would get a shocked reaction from the audience, specifically in 'Flashback' when my partner Taylor gave a sudden reaction of loud gasping. The audience would have been surprised by the loud volume of voice used in the scene. However, there were negative patches in the performance when for example, we had mistakes such as forgetting lines or gaps in scenes, one memorable moment was when a member of my team forgot their lines during a scene and had to improvise by adding extra dialogue. From the experience and development of the play, personally I really liked the pieces because it allowed us as actors to be able to be 'open-minded' and our individual creativity. Therefore, this allowed me to develop on some skills such as confidence where previously I struggled. In contrast, I would ...

Unit 8-Rehearsals

Rehearsals Throughout the 4/5 weeks some of the skills I developed were communication, leadership, ideas towards the project and being able to put the creativity into my piece. For example, during rehearsals of one of my scenes 'Stone', I contributed towards the set of the scene and the angle we should be facing when on stage. I said that we should face at a 90 degree angle towards the audience whilst sitting on the bench because it would be more creative. Furthermore, with the 90 degree perspective angle, the audience have a clear view of the actors facial expressions portraying the strong emotions emerging. Also, this idea would work better for our scene because the person we were bullying was standing in the top right of the stage. The development of skills was amazing because as we processed through unit 8 I was able to see the development from a third person view by my teachers giving me constant feedback. I developed leadership by making sure people are in clas...
